"Commander Spock, we have located your son," the Vulcan lady on the screen says, which would be great, except Jim can tell by the look on Spock's face that he's never heard of this kid before in his life. "If it is expedient, the child will be sent to join you on the Enterprise within the week."
Star Trek: So Wise We Grow
By deastar; Star Trek 09, Kirk/Spock
So Wise We Grow is probably my all-time favorite by virtue of the fact that it could-be-better-than-canon writing.
It has:
- My favorite pairing;
- My favorite trope (accidentally raising a kid together);
- Pretty much just perfect pacing, characterization, development, and overall construction.
Star Trek: A Passage That Sings
By Rave; Chris Pine/Zach Quinto
Footsteps beside him; the creak of bedsprings as Chris sits down by his head. Zach could bite his ass, if he could move. He wouldn't, but he could. It would be tempting. "Front all you want: 'Cathedral' still skull-fucks you with its awesomeness," says Chris, shoving the water up to his face. "Every time. Open your mouth."
A Passage That Sings remains the only fic I have ever printed out in physical form because I'm paranoid it might get deleted from the internet someday and/or modern civilization will collapse and I actually can't live without it.
Trust me, it's good.
